I first began practice in January of 1965-- my office, a residence basement.
My first commission came from developers in Etobicoke who wanted to put up a townhouse development,---but that's another story..... at least, my troglodyte days were over.

No work followed for about 4 months when I received a telephone call from the Dean of Architecture asking if I would be interested in a teaching post at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Toronto, and before he could hang up the receiver, I was standing in his office. Shortly after, one of my colleagues, a former professor, asked if I would be interested in designing a single family residence--the first of many. What joy! What responsibility!
