The site of Ash-House Wood stone circle, at SD192873 in Cumbria, is now almost completely unrecognisable.
Seen in this picture are the two remaining stones. Whether the large mound to the right is a natural feature, or a burial mound once central to the circle I cannot say. The farmer who admitted us to her land to see the stones, thought we were lost and wanted to find Swinside. It is not far away, and in contrast, is one of the most impressive of the Cumbrian rings.
