This is a picture of the monument known as Bedd Arthur on the Preseli mountains in Pembrokeshire, South Wales. The picture is taken from some distance away, I was sat on the pile of stones around a rocky outcrop known as Carn Bica.
It is a strange shape for a stone circle being virtually rectangular but because the small ends are defined only by a single stone it could also be interpretted as being shaped like an eye or a ship, a pointed ellipse. As well as the shape I can find no more than scant reference for it in any of the stone circle literature. If anyone can shed more light on its validity or otherwise, or just provide more background trivia please e-mail me.
