This was possibly the saddest site of the day trip round Wiltshire. We were expecting some decrepit remains, but at Broadstones, nothing was left of the ancient circle.

The map reference SU161685, corresponded to a cross roads of country lanes in the fields behind Malborough, at a hamlet called Clatford. We looked into the fields in the three empty quadrants of the cross-roads (the fourth was occupied by a house), and this was deemed the most likely site. One corner of a grassy field has been left uncultivated. I can only assume the stones once stood here and the area is neglected for that reason. No stones were visible.
