Gospel Grass

Greely Music Studio was developed in 1999 by Canadian musician, Al Spears, following his retirement from a 31 year professional career. He has spent 40 years playing music in several styles, from Folk and Rock to Bluegrass and Oldtime music. Al is a member of the Ottawa Valley Bluegrass Association and served as their executive director for over 10 years. Al also plays at numerous festivals, churches and benefits throughout the year with his band Gospel Grass.

Al teaches the following instruments and styles:

GUITAR: Bluegrass, Folk, Country and Rock
FIDDLE: Bluegrass, Ottawa Valley, Celtic (Irish/Scottish), Oldtime Appalachian Fiddle
MANDOLIN: Bluegrass, Folk, Country
BANJO: Oldtime frailing, Bluegrass

Al's lessons will allow you to play by ear. He also uses charts, tablature and music in his teaching. His students range in age from ten years old to seniors and he has lesson plans to accommodate every age and style of music. No experience or music reading is necessary. He will have you playing in no time!

Young or old, if you are looking for lessons in the above instruments/styles, feel free to contact Al.
