Pastor's Message

Welcome to Barrhaven Fellowship online.

 

Fellowship? It’s the Bible’s word for ‘relationship’, ‘community’ or even ‘partnership’.  The Bible teaches that through Jesus Christ, God is calling all people into this ‘fellowship’ with him!  At Barrhaven Fellowship, we’re on a journey of exploring what it means to partner with God and others in the world.  I hope you’ll consider joining us along the way.

 

As a pastor, I have the rich opportunity to show how God’s Word, called the Bible, invites us into this partnership with God in the world.  I preach, teach, and offer care and counsel, but maybe the most rewarding thing I do is help equip every member here to respond to God’s loving call in their life and to use the diverse array of gifts that God’s given them in His service.

 

I was born and raised in Grimsby, near Hamilton, Ontario, and did my undergrad in Biology at Western University in London before heading to seminary at Calvin Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan.   I’m married to Michelle and have three children aged nine, six and three.  For hobbies, I enjoy many sports, canoeing, woodworking, and playing harmonica.  I’m as normal and unique as anybody else.  As a card I received recently said, “Dar’yl never be another you.”  And that’s true for all of us.
