	Forms
	We produce our precision routed forms from quality 1/2" (minimum thickness) particle board rather than MDF board. The reason is simple, particle board has high holding power for fastening strips whereas MDF board splits when nailed on the side. Particle board is also lighter & easier to shape. Pre-routed forms are a great time saver allowing you to start applying strips within one day.
	Stems
	Stem strips are 3/16" thick rather than 1/4" for ease of bending eliminating steam bending. Simply put under a hot water tap and they will bend. Inner (White Cedar): Inner stems are white cedar unless otherwise specified. They are easier to bend & shape to support the ends of the strips during planking. Outer (Ash or Cherry): Outer stems are ash or cherry because of their flexiblility & strength.
	Strips
	1/4" x 3/4" & 5/8" Bead & Cove in Eastern White & Western Red Cedar Other species are available upon request. Of special interest is our 5/8" strips which we call "twisters". These are preferred by some of our customers for their ease in handling severe curves with minimal sanding. One customer reports cutting his planking time from 20 hours to 12 hours on his "Wee Lassies". For more info on strips see our Classic Strip section. For Laughing Loon canoe designs we have 3/16"x 3/4" & 5/8" Bead & Cove strips available.
	Highlight Strips
	We include highlight strips in the opposite cedar species for accenting colours. Highlight strips in other species are available upon request. Care should be taken when mixing hard woodstrips & softwood strips. Call us for details.
	Inwales & Outwales
	Ash - set of 4 full length - rounded on 2 faces. Scuppered inwales are offered as an upgrade. Cherry is available as an upgrade. Due to the difficulty in obtaining long, high quality Cherry we scarf 2 very high quality shorter length Cherry boards to obtain the best of both worlds.
	Yoke
	Ash - Flat Yoke available in Cherry for an additional charge. Of special note is that we offer SlipStream Yokes as an upgrade - see photo. Quite simply we believe they are the best and most comfortable yokes available. They come with 3 hand rubbed coats of oil finish. "The proof is in the portage." .... Laurie Kelly(Slipstream)
	Seats
	Pair of Ash & Natural Cane- Cherry is available as an upgrade.
	Carriage Bolts
	Brass - 3/16" x 4" including nuts & washers for installing thwart or yoke & seats.

	Brass - 2pcs 3/8" x 4' - screws included.

	System Three Epoxies & MAS EPOXIES are available for our Canadian & US customers. West System Epoxies are available only for our Canadian customers.
