As soon as you defeat the Shadow Dragon, Grothgar the Red Dragon appears to give you another run for your money.
Unlike the other dragons in the game, Grothgar makes use of advanced spells.

This
custom file by Kensai Ryu is meant to create a challenge for powergamers
and experienced players. Not only is the dragon immune to "cheese"
tactics such as the Ctrl-Y instant kill code, but it's also scripted to
be smarter than the original dragons.
Ryu's custom content kicks
in during the Umar Hills quest. If you choose to fight the Shadow
Dragon, be ready for a challenge, as you'll now have to fight two dragons
in a row. Ryu's modified Red Dragon will appear shortly after the
Shadow Dragon's death.
As mentioned above, Ryu's
Red Dragon is scripted to be smarter than the original dragons. It
makes use of spells such as Mislead to keep your party occupied and to
wear them down.
If you manage to defeat Ryu's
dragon, you are well rewarded for your effort. In addition to a large
amount of gems and gold, you also receive a custom set of armour and a
katana.
Ryu's Red Dragon is one that
stands from the other custom files because it actually adds content into
the game, removing the need for players to work with the cheat console
to use the new files. Ryu also included the additional content of
extra items and excellent AI scripting with his Dragon. He presents
the players with a challenge, and rewards them with powerful, but not overly
uber custom items.
It's a very tough battle,
but Grothgar is defeatable.
