Who we are...

The Canadian Council of Independent Laboratories (CCIL) is a professional association of independent consulting, inspection and testing firms that fosters high standards, ethics and good business practices among its members and the industry.

CCIL members are tax-paying business entities, unaffiliated with any academic or governmental institution or with any outside industrial company or trade group which in any manner might affect the firm's ability to conduct investigations, render reports or give professional counsel objectively and without bias.

What We Do...

CCIL and its member firms share a commitment to protect the public through education, adhering to a code of ethics, encouraging good performance and reliability among members, and establishing fair and just fee guidelines. The association participates with standards-writing bodies, conducts surveys for the benefits of its member firms, and lobbies against government-controlled testing facilities where adequate independent facilities exist. The CCIL promotes certification by standards bodies or through special programs to meet specific needs.

By supporting top skill and talent in the fields of engineering and natural and applied science, CCIL aims to meet the growing needs of the professions and enhance the viability of member business operations.

The CCIL has three (3) divisions that direct technical, management and policy issues:

Conformity Assessment/Building Sciences (CA/BS)

Geotechnical/Construction Materials (G/CM)

Environmental

The CCIL is a federally incorporated non-profit organization that represents independent, tax-paying professional firms engaged in testing and analysis, inspection, consulting engineering, quality control and applied research.
