Day 180
The loot from the attack on the Giants produced big boulders, big axes, 12 pp and 15 pp.
Henrietta buries the bodies of the dragon and two ice giants.
The adventurers camp for the night in same area.
The adventurers decide to continue on to the Underdark, and Agrona decides to commune/divine with his God for answers to some of his questions.
Agrona divines and asks his first question: "Is the entrance to the Underdark near or beyond the ice wall where the ice giants came from?"
Answer is: "Yes, the entrance to the Underdark is through the lair of the ice giants"
He divined again and asked: "Relative to our last encounter, how much resistance will we meet?"
Answer was: "It will vary."
Agrona decides to commune this time and decides to ask the following questions:
The adventurers decide to rest for the night in order to regain lost powers for the coming battle.
Xana shape-changes into eagle form and with the ring of invisibility, scouts around the area to find the ice giants village, it takes 2 hours flying to get there. She finds a giant wall with a big double door made of ice on its surface built into the mountainside. It seems deserted around the door.
PW goes for a walk, and finds, about 45 minutes later, giant tracks that are coming up and down the path and crossing it as well. He looks around and finds nothing else of consequence. He proceeds to the left and finds nothing else. Moves up 15 minutes up the path and decides to swing back on the path to the rest of the group after he finds nothing else of consequence. Reports to the adventurers.
Xana comes back to the group and reports her findings.
Ebreck decides to move silently and finds tracks that are 3 days old and also finds out that the tracks belong to ice giants only, no dragons or drow. He follows the tracks and they're all 3 days old... nothing new. 3 ice giants made the tracks, nothing else.
All of a sudden, Agrona has soap bubbles coming out of his mouth and a bull's eye on his back. (Editor's Note: What became of this?)
PW and Ebreck decide to go back to the group to report their findings.
The adventurers decide to go ahead the ice giant's village... Takes all day to travel and the group finally makes it by dusk.
Agrona tells Xanaphia telepathically that "Saving forests is a waste of time." She decides to share with the group, and nothing of consequence is taken from the message.
The adventurers decide to rest for the night and attack the ice giants village the next day.
Nuria decides to stop the soap bubbles from appearing because of something he said to her in her brain that were naughty. Xana, a little cross-eyed, says, "I love tequila!" I'm going to get you guys for this one!!!
PW tries to check for traps and picking the lock, finds nothing so the adventurers try to push the door open. The door stays closed. Nuria casts a "Knock" spell, and the door opens. Swings quickly, and there are two giants standing there inside the open door.
Fight with two ice giants + two more
Nuria tries to converse with the ice giants using two pieces of the rod for the Tongues action asking: "We seek safe passage through your realm".
The ice giants reply: "Tell us why you wish safe passage through our realm, it is not cheap, magic or monetary, one magic item each, or 100 pp each."
Nuria replies: "What could we offer in services?"
Ice giants reply: "No services required, but we would like the wolf".
Against HHH's most wise judgement and insistence to negotiate unbeknowst to him, the party attacks the giants without provocation, (a most unlawful good thing to do) in the middle of the talks, wherein we might have gotten more info, thereby causing a great doo-doo disturbance.
Nuria fireballs the ice giants for 44 points of damage.
HHH sustained 12 pts of damage due to Nuria's fireball.
Ebreck shoots arrows at the giants for 22 points of electricity damage.
Fire giant (on left) hit PW with Greataxe for 22 points of damage.
Ebreck hit for 23 points of damage from an ice giant with a Greataxe.
Agrona flame strikes the ice giants for 38 points of damage (19 holy, 19 fire).
Xana flame strikes the ice giants for 45 points of damage (22 holy, 23 fire).
Nuria magic missiled (5) for 20 points of damage.
Ebreck attacking with his ugrosh (with his lucky cups) for 3 points of damage.
HHH marks one of the ice giants and smites evil for 39 points of damage, killing one of them.
Henrietta attacks with her bite for 4 points of damage.
PW moves backwards and drinks a potion of cure light wounds.
Deus bites one of the ice giants for 6 points of damage.
Ebreck misses...
Ice giants target Ebreck for 24 points of damage. Ebreck falls unconscious but stable. HHH, seeing friend Ebreck fall prone, at the mercy of 2 frost giants, decides to help his friend instead of retreating to safety, risking his own life. Playing in character and doing such a good paladin act should be worth extra XP. Faithful Henrietta, enraged by being hurt by the last giant who had knocked out HHH who had bought time for friend Ebreck to exit the battlefield(see # 5) successfully rends the giant, ripping open the giant's bowels, spilling out his intestines and so killing the last giant.
The other two ice giants hurl two boulders each towards Deus for 17 points of damage and HHH for 14 points of damage.
Xana flames strikes one ice giant for 41 points of damage.
Agrona flame strikes the ice giants for 42 points of damage (21 holy, 21 fire) and Deus evades the damage area successfully.
HHH tries to attack and misses.
The ice giants attack HHH for 60 points of damage. HHH was knocked unconscious and upon being revived, seeing friends in danger charged back into the fray BEFORE FULLY HEALING HIMSELF, since time was of the essence, and so ends up being killed. Well worth extra experience points as it was so in character as a good paladin thing to do.
Nuria launches two scorching rays (one misses) and hits for 13 points of damage killing it.
Henrietta moves back with HHH towards Xana.
PW moves back 20 ft to attack from a safe distance, hiding successfully.
Deus tries to bite one of the ice giants and misses.
One of the ice giants moves forward by 20 feet, attacks Xana for 27 points of damage and Deus for 22 points of damage.
Xana summons a large fire elemental behind on of the ice giants that's threatening her.
Agrona casts Searing Light and caused 23 points of damage.
Ice giants attack Deus for 26 points of damage rendering his unconscious and unstable.
Nuria casts two scorching rays against the ice giant in front of her for 16 fire damage and 19 fire damage.
Xana's Fire Elemental attacks the Ice Giant that is front of him for 13 points of damage (6 fire damage the ice giant can save himself from) and 14 points of damage (5 fire damage the ice giant can save himself from).
PW stabilized HHH with a potion of cure light wounds.
Ice giants attack Nuria for 25 points of damage and Agrona for 28 points of damage.
Xana summons a medium fire elemental on the ice giant that's threatening Agrona.
Agrona summons a fire mephit in front the ice giant threatening Agrona.
Ice giants attack Nuria for 19 points of damage and attacks Agrona for 27 points of damage.
Large elemental tries to attack an ice giant and misses.
Medium elemental tries to attack an ice giant and misses.

PW tumbles to Nuria to avoid an attack of opportunity, succeeds and gives her a potion of cure light wounds for 3 hp.

Ice giants attack Xana for 25 points of damage and Agrona for 23 points of damage (should be in the negative, but is at 1 hp still).
Xana moves away from the attack.

Agrona withdrawing from the melee towards HHH to heal him.
Ice giants attack the large fire elemental for 27 points of damage and attacks and kills the fire mephit.
Large fire elemental attacks ice giant for 7 points of damage and 10 points of fire damage (which it can save itself from).

PW gives Nuria the last potion of cure light wounds for 8 hp and giver her 2 hp.

Ice giants deals 25 points of damage to each fire elemental.
Xana summons another large fire elemental and it appears behind an ice giant.
Agrona is healing HHH for 42 hp using cure critical wounds using the armband of healing.
Ice giants kill the first two fire elementals that Xana summoned.
Nuria launches five magic missiles to an ice giant for 22 points of damage.
Large fire elemental tries to attack and misses.
HHH attacks an ice giant for 21 points of damage.
Henrietta tries to attack an ice giant and misses. She bites for 7 points of damage.
Large fire elemental tries to attack and misses.
PW tries to hide and succeeds, and snuck behind Ebreck and will try to wake him up.
Ice giants kill the large fire elemental, and attacked HHH for 25 points of damage.
Xana summons another large fire elemental and places it exactly where the last one just died.
Agrona heals himself with cure serious wounds spell for 34 hp.
Ice giants attacks the large fire elemental for 18 points of damage and attack HHH for 26 points killing him...
Nuria attacks an ice giant with magic missiles for 18 points of damage (leaving the ice giant with 1 hp left).
Large fire elemental tries to attack an ice giant and misses.
Ice giant attacks large fire elemental for 21 points of damage.
Xana casts Flaming Sphere on the last ice giant (who makes his reflex save).
Agrona casts Spiritual Weapon on the ice giant and deals 6 points of damage.
Ice giants attacks the large fire elemental and kills it.
Nuria magic missiled the last ice giant and kills it.
The adventurers receive 50 pp from the bodies.
Deus, faithful animal companion to Xana, and good friend to HHH and Henrietta having laughed and fought side by side, dies in the defence of his mistress. Xana decides not to reincarnate him. (It was his time to go HHH, I loved him dearly!)
PW decides to venture into the cave to see what the adventurers will be expecting when they come back.
The adventurers find a safe place to be able to spy and monitor the entrance to the cave.
Agrona heals the injured adventurers with spells, armband, everything at his disposal. Xana heals herself to boost what Agrona was able to give her.
PW sacrifices an expensive magic dagger (+2 minimum 5000 gp) to raise HHH from the dead. Such a display of friendship should be worth extra XP points. HHH will not forget this, PW. HHH wakes up not remembering anything beyond having died (i.e. no visions, à la Agrona from way back).
After re-arranging a few things, they decide to head into the Ice Giant's cave... They find out that the doors closed up again and they all take 21 points of damage from an Ice Storm spell that lasts for 1 round.
Xana uses the wand to cure everyone's damage, once she cures HHH (after Ebreck), the doors open again...
Fight with two ice giants and two winter wolves
Nuria fire balled two winter wolves and two ice giants for 32 points of damage.
Ebreck fumbled.
One wolf attacked Ebreck and Xana, Ebreck saved himself, but Xana took full damage for 16 points. The other wolf attacked Agrona with Cone of Cold for 16 points of damage.
One giant attacks Agrona with boulders for 14 points of damage. And another boulder on HHH for 13 points of damage.
They then charged forward towards the adventurers.
Henrietta attacked a wolf for 8 points of damage with one claw.
HHH attacks the same wolf for 12 points of damage and a second attack for 9 points of damage.
Agrona flame strikes the two giants for 31 points of damage.
Xana flame strikes a wolf and a giant for 33 points of damage, the wolf dies.
Nuria withdraws and moved away.
Ebreck (with his amazing cups) tries to attack and misses, but for his second attack, he succeeds for 4 points of damage.
Two giants attack Ebreck for 49 points of damage. Ebreck tries to bluff (by playing dead) and succeeds with one giant, but not the other.
The other wolf attacks HHH for 17 points of damage.
HHH attacks the wolf for 8 points of damage and it dies.
Henrietta successfully attempts to attack the giant that knows that Ebreck if faking his death, she attacks him for 15 points of damage.
PW attacks the giant that is fooled by Ebreck's bluff for 18 points of damage.
Giants attack HHH... One misses but one hits for 24 points of damage.
Agrona flame strikes one of the giants and kills him. One giant left.
Xana tries to cast Baleful Polymorph on the remaining giant and fails.
Nuria attacks with two scorching rays for 20 points of damage (fire).
Ebreck drinks a potion of Cure Light Wounds for 6 hp.
The giant attacks Henrietta for 30 points of damage.
Faithful Henrietta, enraged by being hurt by the last giant who had knocked out HHH who had bought time for friend Ebreck to exit the battlefield successfully rends the giant, ripping open the giant's bowels for 42 points of damage, spilling out his intestines and so killing the last giant.
The adventurers find 15 pp and 3 pp (see item totals list for updated amounts).
