David Jakob - want to learn about ME?

Unfortunately I'm currently too busy to maintain this personal page. But a little bit about me:

• Single parent living in Ottawa Canada. (Yes, those are old photos of me, not my son.)
• Active and athletic, I enjoy playing volleyball, ultimate, swimming, and hiking.
• Enjoy fine wine, dining, and travelling. Have been to about 20 countries on 3 continents and hoping to see more of this great world and its amazing people.
• President and co-owner of XIST Inc. an Ottawa-based management consulting firm in the areas of online communication technologies, information management and information technology (IM/IT).
• Co-owner of serveral Canadian domains: wine.ca, taxes.ca, and library.ca among others
• Formerly operated my sole proprietorship, Jakob Consulting, before founding XIST

I received my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Master of Library and Information Science (M.L.I.S.) degrees from the University of Western Ontario (UWO). Although the business is based in Ottawa, I live in the Aylmer sector of Gatineau Quebec. Strange because I was actually raised in Aylmer Ontario. There is about 650 kms between the two Aylmers.

Currently I provide consulting and web development services to both government and private sector organizations. I consult primarily on IM/IT issues, business process reengineering using online technologies, communications and management consulting, and have expertise in library services consulting.
