- produced 4 designs for station and 3 for hotel. All but last
hotel design rejected by Laurier cabinet, City Council, or railway.
- associated with Meredith for final redesign (1907-8)
- dismissed and replaced by Ross & Macfarlane
- final Chateau design externally similar to Gilbert's, but
decorative style changed
- final station design different, except for relationship of
waiting room, some ancillary facilities concourse, and shed.
- Gilbert alleged plagiarism but sued Grand Trunk for non-payment
