

Trillium
grant makes mark on local ski trails
The
Ontario Trillium Foundation has provided some much-needed support to
local recreation facilities with a $50,000 grant for new cross-country
ski grooming equipment. Shown with some of the new equipment during an

FEBRUARY
5, 1975: The Junior Knights played a senior team from Deep River on
Friday and won 13-2. The game proved to the fans that the Knights are a
well-balanced team and showed how well each line worked together. Goal
scorers for the Knights were R Wilson with three, J Dobenko and S
Mussell with two each, and D Jennings, M Meilleur, R Jibb, D Bertrand,
R Cox and D Wilson with singles. Goal scorers for the seniors
were J Winegar and Burger.

Cuts in provincial funding are a
“wake-up call” for Renfrew County
municipalities, says the chair of the county's finance committee.
Time
is running out, and Renfrew County says it is “disappointed” it has not
been invited to be part of a review of the “staggered bells” school
pilot project.
Parents
went back to school last week to learn about how the new full-day
kindergarten classes that will be offered at St. Mary's will impact
both their children and themselves.
The Deep River Police
are continuing to investigate the disappearance of a 41-year-old Deep
River man.
