Williams, all of seven months old, put on a brave face for her mother,
Joanna, as public health nurse Karen Armstrong gave her an H1N1
vaccination at the Real Hope Christian Assembly in Deep River last
week. The one-day clinic on Thursday was put on by the Renfrew County
and District Health Unit. Over the course of five hours, 237 people in
priority groups were vaccinated, while another 63 people over the age
of 65 received seasonal flu shots.

18, 1964: Following a general meeting of the Mount Martin Ski Club, a
new non-profit corporation was formed to purchase 11 acres of land at
the Double Dip ski hill, in order to develop it into a full scale ski
facility. Plans for the ski hill include recontouring, clearing and
making additional facilities, espcially for the intermediate skier. It
is hoped that within a few years, the town of Deep River will purchase
the land in keeping with the official plan of the town, whereby this
land is zoned recreational.
