Background Information
The River Recreation Improvement Association (RRIA) provides service from mid June to mid
October at nine beach sites located between Frasers Point and Oiseau Bay.Approximately
60 picnic tables and refuse containers are provided along this stretch of the Ottawa River
with regular weekly garbage collection and beach cleaning at all sites.Toilets are located
at the more popular sites.
Indian Point has a beach volleyball court and swings. Which are also located at Frasers Point.
The cost of maintaining and servicing these facilities is paid entirely by the RRIA. Your
support to our organization greatly assists us in keeping these beaches in pristine condition
and enables us to expand our existing facilities.
The service period covers the normal boating season through to Thanksgiving weekend. Beyond
this period the water level is often unstable requiring the picnic tables and refuse containers
to be stored above the high water mark. All members should ensure that tables and containers
are not left on the beaches after Thanksgiving.
Forest Fires are always a concern. We thank you in advance for respecting all campfires bans
that may be in effect. This stretch of the Ottawa River is known for unforecast periods of strong
winds at any time of the night or day. Play it safe and ensure your campfire is thoroughly
extinguished. Once again thanks in advance.
