While we began as public historians, much of our work concerns present-day topics. It covers a broad range of fields -- culture and the arts, science, technology, transportation, social, economic, architectural, military, sports, urban, regional, business, native, ethnic, political ... and just about anything else.

It is our business to be familiar with the contents of books, articles, libraries, archives, data bases, information banks, and international holdings about Canada. We can perform sophisticated professional analyses -- but have also answered countless seemingly trivial questions. We want Canadians to know about themselves.

We believe that works created to represent Canada to Canadians, and Canada to countries abroad, should be based on knowledge, not conjecture .... particularly when that knowledge is available.
