Image/Subject Evaluation
Any image you use in association
with your activities is a reflection of you. It is wise to check
that it projects the meaning you intend to portray.
Images, like certain subjects, carry
associations. Some have connotations in other cultures that are
vastly different to what they mean to mainstream Canadian society.
Other images have acquired overtones through previous use. Still

values they portray. Unsympathetic
associations can undercut the impact of the most aesthetically
apt depiction. If you are going to use an image extensively,
it is wise to check its pedigree.
Choosing subjects to portray can also
be tricky. Sometimes they can be represented in a variety of
contexts, and it is important to select the context that most
closely represents the values for which the subject was chosen
-- or the context with values most appealing to a target audience.
Errors in portrayal -- whether in detail or in concept -- are
not amusing. They attract negative publicity far in excess of
a normal audience range. It is far less costly to do a little
research and check the image or the subject before making a costly
commitment.
Heritage Research Associates Inc. can analyze the communication
values of an image or a subject. We can identify the contexts
within which it would be appropriate for use. We can verify the
integrity of its representation and the accuracy of its detail.
This is a small extra step for important reassurance.
