On March 3, 1999, Carleton elected to drop its University Football program. The money saved will be used to support the new club sports of Ultimate Frisbee, Hockey (Men's and Women's), Lacrosse (Men's and Women's), Baseball and Women's rugby.

If you've been following this story, or have followed the links indicated above, you'd realize that practically all the opinions on Carleton's decision have been negative. So it seems that I am decidedly in the minority when I say I think the Athletics department made the right decision.
