Sussex Drive, Ottawa
The Sussex Drive (formerly Sussex Street), named after the Earl of Sussex, is lined on the East side with nineteenth-century buildings, shops and hotels that made the Street into a important business thoroughfare. The West side was cleared in 1913 for the construction of the Connaught building (at left). Near the north (far) end of the street stands the remarkable Notre-Dame Cathedral. Rightmost is the Transportation Building.
