Hi dear Family and Friends,
Week six ..half way there and half way through setting up the Library
... still lots of work but so far so good!
The children are reading or pretending to read, or asking me to read.
Harry Potter was read, by flashlight last night. They like it. I guess
the world of make believe is universal.
Have had weekly outages of electricity this being the worst week ever:
two days out, no water as well but luckily there is a generator.
With 225 children, you can imagine...
Enjoyed three gifts, a new mosquito net, a beautiful bird's nest
that had been blown down in a great big Sahara wind/sand storm,
delivered to my door as a surprise by one of the children, and a
chocolate bar from Poland - small blessings - not to mention the
children's love notes!
It is very hot - even the dog took refuge in the library yesterday.
The one thing I forgot to bring was my alarm clock, but no worries.
The rooster crows starting at 4:00 a.m. provide ample opportunity
to roll over as they keep going until six a.m., my usual waking time. I
work hard all morning but then get a wonderful nap at 13:00! Life here
is challenging but rewarding too.
Miss you all immensely, but keep you in my thoughts and send you
best wishes daily. May life be good to you all, keep you well.
Love,
Elizabeth
