- Ship Registry
-
Most countries keep track of vessels registered in their
jurisdiction. These registries can range from a small card file to an
elaborate computer system. The registries keep track of ownership,
transfers, mortgages and other activities relating to ownership.
- Telephone Banking
-
For a number of years, banks and other financial institutes
have been using the telephone as an alternative to tellers. Telephone
banking replaces an operator with a computer that interacts between
the customer and his accounts. The customer can do almost all banking
transactions except withdrawing cash.
