NOTICE OF RACE
VENUE
The 1999 Canadian Fireball Championship Regatta
will be held July 17-18, 1999 at the Nepean Sailing Club, Nepean, Ontario.
ORGANIZING AUTHORITY
The Organizing Authority is the Nepean Sailing
Club and the Ontario Fireball Association.
RULES
The Ontario Fireball Championship Regatta
will be governed by the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing for 1997 - 2000 (RRS)
including the CYA prescriptions, this Notice of Race, the Fireball Class
Rules, (except as any of these are changed by this Notice of Race and the
Sailing Instructions) and by the Sailing Instructions.
ALTERNATIVE PENALTIES
Alternative penalties according to RRS 44.1
and 44.2 will apply.
ADVERTISING CATEGORY
The Ontario Fireball Championship Regatta
shall rank as a Category B event in accordance with RRS Appendix G (1997
- 2000) and subject to the following provisions. "The organizing authority
reserves the right to refuse permission to display any specific advertising".
Details of the advertising and boat sponsors must be stated on or before
registration. Any advertising must be in accordance with applicable class
rules, and the organizing authority may require display of advertising
of an event sponsor on the forward 25% of hulls in accordance with rule
G4.2(a).
ENTRIES AND PAYMENT OF FEES
Entries shall be made on the official entry
form during Registration Friday eveneing and Saturday morning. The
entry fee is $30.00.
COURSE
The course will be based on the Fireball World
Championship Course but with a down wind finish.
REGISTRATION
Competitors shall register at the Nepean Sailing
Club Friday July 16 18:00 - 20:00 or Saturday July 18 08:00 - 09:00.
Registrations may be taken up to the end of the first day of racing.
ELIGIBILITY
One of either the skipper or crew shall be
a member of their National Fireball Association. The ISAF's Competitor's
Eligibility Code (RRS Appendix K, 1997- 2000) applies.
SCORING SYSTEM
The low point scoring system of RRS Appendix A
(1997 - 2000) will apply.
SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The Sailing Instructions will be available
upon completion of registration at the Nepean Sailing Club.
PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to the Skipper and
Crew of the first three places overall, based on the lowest scored total
(less any throw out races determined from the Race Instructions).
Prize giving will be held following the
last race and any protest being heard on the Sunday at a time to be announced.

The last race on Sunday, July 4 will not
start later than 1400 hours. This time will be extended to accommodate
any timing errors or general recalls.
OTHER EVENTS
It is proposed that a "Reception"
will be held on Friday evening at Phil Locker's house, 295 Lanark, Ottawa.
Directions will be available at NSC. There will be an evening meal at the
Nepean Sailing Club on Saturday.

The Nepean Sailing Club is located in Dick
BellPark on Carling Avenue in Nepean. Directions and a map can be
