This completes our first three illustrations of the relationship between the decorated surface form of music, and the underlying melodic-harmonic structures. I hope that you have found this interesting. We will return to analysis in future chapters, but first we need to explore some additional basic patterns. In addition I need to describe the relationship between decorations and basic patterns more formally.
