Former AER Sudbury yard site
|
On the south side of the shop lead track, about 200 feet west of the ash
pit, the AER located their sand facilities. The sand tower was an 8 foot
by 8 foot frame structure and the adjoining sand house to the west of the
tower was a frame structure 14 x 22.5. Like the ash pit, the 1930
plan for Sudbury shows no siding associated with the ash pit. Until further
evidence is unearthed one can only assume that sand was shoveled into the
house from a car temporarily spotterd on the shop lead.
