REMEMBERING STAN TOWNSEND 1928-2001
|

Stan Townsend, son of George Townsend and Winifred Alderman and Father of Susan passed
away February 2001.
Stan was greatly admired on this side of the Atlantic and we know he always
enjoyed his visits with us.
I never saw him in a bad humour and he seldom had a bad word
to say about anybody.
He was often the butt of my jokes but he always took it in good fun, such
as the Oliver and Hardy joke "What are we going to do today Ollie?"..
He loved jazz and good
food and his deck chair gardening was legendary!!
You are greatly missed Stan by your
wife Gwen, daughter Susan and all the family, but we have very happy memories of you and your sense
of humour will remain with us.

He always insisted that he was a good swimmer but somehow we were not convinced.
