Brief summary of duties:
- Management of up to seven UNIX workstations and fifteen PC within a
section devoted to Computational Thermalhydraulics. This requires
thorough knowledge of DOS/Windows 95/NT and UNIX operating systems.
- Code development, application and presentation of results by means
of various graphic systems. This requires thorough knowledge of
FORTRAN and various graphical and visualization tools.
- Programmer/code custodian, taking full responsibilities for the
quality-assured archival maintenance of development and production
versions of the codes. This involves frequent liaison with the
development team and the user community to ensure access to the
codes by various means.
- Online/hard copy documentation and procedure development. This
requires good written/oral communication skills and thorough
knowledge of HTML and SGML languages along with frequent liaison
with management, development and customer groups.
- Plan and analyze current and long term needs for hardware and
software acquisition.

Alpha Business Software is a company devoted to providing custom
programming, consulting, and system maintenance services to the
Computer and Business community.

- Software design, coding, and testing using mainly Turbo
Vision, Pascal and C.
- Program redesigning and upgrading, usually from old style spaghetti
code into modular or modern Object Oriented extensions.
- Program optimization and translation, mostly from COBOL, FORTRAN,
or Basic to improve performance, flexibility, and execution speed.
- Basic Windows programming.
- Spreadsheet design using Lotus and Quattro Pro.
To name just a few applications I have designed: Quality control
database, inventory control software. The most complex program
designed and written by me is a Logging Software and Database,
which has been designed for general ham radio community. The package
totals over 50,000 lines of modern, object oriented code. To my
knowledge, the program is very popular, and available in over
25 countries, but the list is still growing. The software is considered
to be in the top three programs of its kind in the world by many
of the ham radio organizations.
