I am fortunate to have come from a country known for her food.
In Malaysia, an adventurous eater can sample the distinctly different cuisines of Malay,
Chinese and Indian and a wide selection of international and regional fare.
Now, living in Canada, I have learnt to appreciate the home-cooked meals...the authenticity
of the local flavour. I would kill for a bowl of 'Hokkien Mee' and 'Laksa'...
a plate of 'Fried Koay Teow' or a bowl of chilled 'Ice Kacang'!!
I guess all those times spent in the kitchen helping mom to cook has finally paid off.
I have compiled a personal choice of dishes that I grew up with...dishes I have enjoyed...
My husband, Peter introduced me to Polish cuisine. The first Polish dish he cooked when we
first met was Zurek Polski - it instantly became my favourite.
Polish dishes are rather easy - but it's a matter of getting the right
ingredients which can only be found at a Polish delicatessen.
Peter says that I am about to betray his well-kept family recipe secrets...
