The next morning (Friday, August 15, 2003) I hiked west along the north shore of the Susan, as the helicopter pilot had assured me that the monument was on the north shore of the Susan.  After hiking about 400 metres, and to my immense relief, I had my first view of the monument.

The white lead put in place by Wallace in 1913 was still visible.
