

In this document "chord fingerings" refers to the group of notes that must be played to form a chord. The fingering is given by listing the fret of each successive string (starting from the top, or most bass string and working downward).
If a string is not played, then a "-" should be placed in the position for that string. Alternately, an "x" can be used, though a "-" is preferable.
Therefore, a C chord is illustrated with -32010 (alternately x32010), a D chord with --0232 and, a G chord with 320003. In table form, these become:
C -32010 D --0232 G 320003
Note that the spacing between digits should be whatever makes it most readable. So, the above table might be better as:
C - 3 2 0 1 0 D - - 0 2 3 2 G 3 2 0 0 0 3
