For readability, there should be two dashes between successive notes.
Do not use TAB characters, they will not expand to the same number of characters on different systems. If your editor forces TAB characters into the document, please try and run it through an 'expand' filter after editing to replace them with spaces.
Any deviations from the standard notation (as defined in this document) should be stated in the tablature.
