 Proposing Ideas With Words

On their first visit to the project studio, Cycle 2 students were invited to experience the 'proposal phase' of the public art process.  As only five from each classroom (20 max.) could be on the final project team, interested students  wrote 'proposal letters' to the artist during their class time.  They focussed on their interests in art, working during their leisure times, what they felt they could bring to the project and why they should be selected for the team.

"I would like to give something back to the school after all it has given me, and this is the perfect way.  It would be nice to help make something that would last a long time, not just like a poster."  Chelsea S., grade 6

"I am interested in working with a real artist."  Melissa R., grade 6

"I have an endless imagination too, so please pick me !" Joey S., grade 5

"I would like to be in the group because I'm a good artist and I'm looking for a job."  Jessica B., grade 4
