Preparations are underway to make a cabinet for the telescope for its new home at the Yacht and Tennis Club. Telescope keys have been copied and will be distributed to the Chair, Treasurer and Secretaries.
Dr Glynn Marsh, working for BFNL, Preston, UK visited Lou Cox's Observatory. He is an renowned comet watcher.
Harry Adams, Treasurer, said that the Bank of Nova Scotia are charging $5/month bank charges. Harry will look into changing our bank to reduce our costs and the members present said he should implement this action. Harry collected membership fees which are now due.
There was general discussion about the geological ice and water features on Mars which match eskers, riverbeds and cirques on Earth.
The next meeting will be on Thursday 6th Nov. at 8:00 pm at Lou's Observatory if the skies are clear and alternatively at Longshots if it is cloudy. Call Lou's Observatory (584 9291) for a weather decision on the 6th.
If it's a Longshot's night on the 6th then viewing at the observatory will be attempted on the 7th.
