store has decided to drop windsurfing and focus on
kitesurfing. As a result, they are looking to clear out all the remaining
items in stock providing people with a great opportunity to get a new fin
to extend the range of your board, replace that worn out part or get a
nice board bag for your board. Some of the items that
are labelled as used are possibly still new but just have some marks on
them from sitting around. As a favour to the owner, I agreed

Wanted: Cheaper board to fit an already existing mast setup (the mast base was very basic - round inner piece with two protruding/retractable bumps that clipped into 2 small holes at the bottom of the base - looked like this base http://www.the-house.com/ch510zzchinook.html). I inherited a windsurfer with the cottage I bought and enjoyed the heck out of it last summer, even though our lake is a little too small to get really good winds. Sadly, someone decided to steal the board - although they left the mast, sail and boom. In any event, I think it was a mid-90's board, maybe Mistral. About 10 ½ feet long. Lots of volume (myself and my niece - 230 lbs total? - could sit on it and it wouldn't sink). I'm 170lbs and looking for a relatively cheap replacement - old or new style. If anyone has something wasting away in their garage and you think it might be a good replacement for mine, please give me a ring. If you've got a full rig and want to see it all together, I might consider it as well. |

Wanted:
Complete windsurfer rig that is suitable for a competent
beginner-intermediate surfer (all my experience is on an old

I have a Naish vest defender It 's a vest It's
a harness it 's both. It protects the kiter from the worst wipe
out 99$ Wanted: kite, bar and lines. Looking to learn
to kite on snow. The Helix continues to lead the revolutionary

BUYING AND SELLING
OUTSIDE OTTAWA
Canada
For small goods, the
cheapest method is usually via Canada Post, although it doesn't hurt to
check others as well.
For large items, such as
big sails, it becomes more of a challenge. Canada post has length
restrictions so depending on the size of sail, you may have to look
elsewhere, such as Purolator, Canpar, UPS, etc.
For Boards, the cheapest I
have found has been Purolator, so if you are looking at buying or selling
a board, I would first check with them. Update: A
local windsurfer had a Carve 99 shipped from Vancouver to Ottawa for $135
cdn...
Payment: There
are lots of options; bank transfer, postal money order (cheap!), bank
money order (more costly), certified cheque, online payment
(www.paypal.com and others).
United States
If you are buying from the
US, you will have to pay duty, taxes and brokerage charges. The post
office only charges $5 for brokerage fees and usually only goes through
the hassle of paperwork for items that have a decleared value of $20 or
more.
For small goods, the cheapest method is
usually via the post office, although it doesn't hurt to check others as
well.
For larger goods,
either UPS, Fedex Ground, or Airborne express are good options, although
you will get charged higher brokerage fees on the item. If you are
planning on using one of these, for a $3 contribution towards the cost of
operating the Ottawa Windsurfing website, you can have the item sent via
my Customs brokerage account which should save you 30% on brokerage fees.
If you are looking to
send a larger item to the US, I would be willing to take care of sending
it for you via my UPS exporter account, which will save you 30% off the
published UPS rates in return for a $5 contribution towards the cost of
operating the Ottawa Windsurfing website.
For boards, the cheapest I have found has been
Purolator (to send), or Airborne Express (to receive), so if you are
looking at buying or selling a board, I would first check with them. The
best bargain used to be shipping via the Airlines, but since 9/11 American
Airlines does not offer cargo service to Ottawa (in the past I had a 180L
board shipped to me for $75 US).
Payment: There are lots of options; bank transfer,

Auctions
If you are looking to sell
an item quickly, you may want to consider auctioning it off online. Your
success will depend on the age of your gear, the price you want to get for
it and the time of year (don't try and sell in the middle of winter!). If
you don't want to have to figure out how to auction it off online and deal
with payment, I would be willing to look after everything including posting, accepting payment
and shipping for you for a $15 contribution towards the cost of
operating the Ottawa Windsurfing website. send all
