Stittsville as the incumbent priest in the fall of 2005.
She
began her studies in theology in 1997 at St. Paul
University, Ottawa, graduating with a Baccalaureate in
Theology, Magna Cum Laude, in 2001. She continued
her studies at St. Paul and earned a Master of Pastoral
Theology degree in 2002. Jane began a curacy at Christ Church
Bells Corners immediately following her
ordination to the diaconate in May of 2002. She was
ordained to the priesthood in November of the same
year.
Jane grew up in Ottawa’s west end, attending local
schools. She was the youngest of the three children in
her family. She had what she calls a pretty average childhood.
Her interests at that time included drama, music, (especially the piano),
swimming and gymnastics.
Jane’s life has always reflected her concern for the care and
nurture of people. Her first
career was in the health care field as a Registered Nurse. Her
specialty was Intensive and
Coronary Care. She continued to study and became registered as an
Ultrasound
Technologist. Jane worked for a time in that speciality at
the Ottawa Heart Institute.
It was there that she realized and pursued a call to ordained
ministry in the Anglican
Church in the diocese of Ottawa.
Jane has had many blessings in her life including loving parents
and siblings to grow up
with and the blessing of a caring husband and two wonderful
daughters. This past year
the family expanded to include two precious grandsons.
It is the blessings of life that Jane focuses on at this point in
time. Working in the
community at St. Thomas is one of those blessings. Here she is
given the opportunity to
work among Christ’s present day disciples, to nurture the
Christian faith of all age groups
and to be a vehicle of God’s love and compassion. Ministry is
seen as privilege and a joy
as she serves God and God’s people at St. Thomas Church.
