"Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did it to me."
Matthew 25:40
Various committees of dedicated volunteers, with the active involvement of clergy, enable our mission and outreach ministry. Beyond providing financial contributions to international programs or aid agencies, this ministry involves information and advocacy as well as substantial in-kind support to various agencies.
There are numerous diocesan and national programs, supported directly by parishioner's time and financial contributions, or through our parish's financial contribution to diocesan programming.
At St. Thomas', we have a distinct awareness of our community and we serve it by:
Accepting Christ's challenge to work and help those who are less fortunate by supporting the Stittsville Foodbank, working with the Kanata Stittsville Refugee Support Group, Innercity Ministries, Goulbourn Grans, Bales for the North, and many others.
Supporting our diocesan, national, and international outreach programs including the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF)
Developing parish brochures and welcome packets
Advertising church worship, and educational and social activities
Welcoming new members and families and encouraging their involvement.
St. Thomas Church in Stittsville, 1619 Main Street, will be holding a monthly Community dinner on the third Saturday of each month, beginning on January, 16th 2010. Doors will open at 4 pm, and dinner will be served at 4.30 pm. We look forward to welcoming everyone and sharing a delicious meal with you. See you there.
