At the Easter Service on April 8, 2012, the Youth Group presented an
excellent short play about the Resurrection.

In Dec, 2011, the Youth Group had a very successful Christmas cookies bake
sale with the proceeds going to the Northern Magic Fund for International Development. They raised $214 for the

The group consisted of: Elysse Chennette, Anna Denesyk, Sarah Thomas, Gregory Chennette,
Lauren Faulkner,
Hannah Faulkner, Tyler Dow and Jarrett Dow
St. Thomas has an active and
lively youth group with kids from Grade 7 through 12. We meet 3 Sundays per
month during the 10:30 service for discussions, activities, field trips and
planning of fundraising activities. Some of the upcoming activities are:

Kick off BBQ - September 9, 2011 Ø
Participate in the St. Thomas Drama group that meets once a week and
performs
for
the congregation Ø
Baking for the monthly Sunday School birthday Sunday (cake batter, icing,
cupcakes - what could be better?!) Ø
Hosting Shrove Tuesday Pancake supper (think pancake batter, syrup and
teenagers – yum!) Ø
Hosting coffee hour at St. Thomas – after baking some treats to serve (more
FOOD!) Ø
Participate in city wide youth activities such as coffee houses (see
pictures), attending
Christian concerts, and other activities Ø
End of year weekend at Reverend Jane's cottage (think swimming, tubing,
eating,
badminton, S'mores...)
We are looking into the
possibility of attending the CLAY (Canadian Lutheran Anglican Youth)
Gathering http://www.clay2010.ca/ in
Saskatoon in 2012 – there are many challenges to get there but the youth are
excited about the possibility!
The youth are also involved
within the parish as servers, nursery helpers, Sunday school helpers,
readers etc. There are many opportunities for learning, participation,
volunteer hours and lots of FUN (did I mention food??)!
We would love to have more
youth join our group – our upcoming meetings are September 11
(registration), 18, 25; October 2, 16, 23, 30; November 13, 20, 27 and
December 11, 18. If you would like more information please contact either
