Yes I am the one responsible for building this Website
I became interested in Genealogy about
five years ago [1999] after receiving some old family photo's from my cousin Desmond Townsend.
I
have several hobbies, not least of which is computer technology, in particular computer Photography.
Another hobby for the last 18 years has been woodcarving [mostly birds] as shown in the photo below.

I also love gardening [not weeding], we are able to garden most of the year because we spend most of
our winter in Florida. I have been trying to grow four Bougainvillea climbers together and as you can
see by the photo below have so far managed to grow three, I am still missing the white one.

We have lived in Ottawa Canada nearly 50 years. During my career I worked in Space Research for some
34 years working on many different Satellites.
I helped to build the Alouette spacecraft launched
43 years ago this year 2005. Photo above is of a very young Peter on the left testing the Alouette
spacecraft.

I was Test Supervisor for the Communications Technology Satellite launched in 1976!! This was the
first TV broadcast Satellite to work in the 11 to 13 ghz band, now standard to all TV broadcast spacecraft.
I was test conducter for the launch from the Kennedy Space Centre.
|
In 1965/67 I worked on the British UK3 spacecraft and was a member of the launch team at
Vandenberg Air Force base in California.
