Some People's Parents

My Interests

- Office Professor Inc. - My new company, providing onsite computer training and support, and programming.
- Canadian National pagan Convention - dunno where, dunno when, but I'm hosting the web site for now.
- Stilo - My former employer's site - OmniMark is the product produced in Ottawa. If your corporate web site serves megabytes of data, or terabytes, or you need to process megabytes or more in SGML or XML, or you need to convert megabytes or more of data to SGML or XML, you should check out OmniMark.
- Hogwarts Alumni - One of my "alma mater's"
- Univ. of Sask. | Physics | Engineering - another alma mater - where I got my Engineering-Physics degree
- Canadian Light Source - where I worked during and just after my degree
- Pagan Federation of Canada - Did I mention I'm a pagan? This is a good place to start to find out what that means.
- Patak Spices - I really do cook. And more safely than the characters in my stories. (Really!!)

Harry Potter stuff

- Harry Potter for grown ups - sponsor of Convention Alley - Huge group

Co-workers

- Mark Adams - Retromud - Mark is one of my co-workers and one of the founders of a rather large and successful Multi-User Dungeon. (M.U.D.)
- Carl Steiren - Carl is a former co-worker. His personal site tells about people he knows, and also about some of the Non-government Organizations (NGOs) he is involved with.
- Ian Gorman - Ian is a former OmniMarker. His site features info on learning Japanese, pictures of fishing trawlers in Prince Edward Island, government links of the three countries of which he is a citizen, and links to the articles he has written.
- Sam Wilmott - Sam is OmniMark's primary language designer. His site has a links page with lots of math links. He is a "bell ringer". For more info see his links page.

Classic Links

- Google - My favourite search engine. Fast to display, text ads only and all related to your search topic
- Weather Underground - I use their site for the weather links on my front page
- The Register - News of the computer industry, with a bite
- HTML Help - Where I go when I don't have an HTML text handy
- Dictionary.com
- Linux Daily News - A useful Linux site, with one to 5 stories daily
- Cumberland Games and Diversions - Really interesting and useful gamer's site. Pay stuff and free stuff. Love the fonts!

Comedy

You really should start at the beginning with these "productivity viruses". The stories run for several years at about one strip per day:
- Kevin and Kell - animal version of modern life
- Sluggy Freelance - Whacky version of a very unreal life
- User Friendly - Computer geek's view of life

I like Canadian comedy groups. I haven't sought out their web sites, though. This one I ran across while doing other things.
- Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie - Try this Canadian (high tech oriented) comedy site, best viewed with a high speed connection.

Are you a super villain?
- UberGeek.TV

Ottawa Computer Groups

- Ottawa Python Authors Group
- Ottawa PC User's Group
- Ottawa Canada Linux Users Group
- Monitor magazine has a user group list, for the current list, click on "Inside this issue", then, near the bottom of the page, "Userbase". here's the list for Feb. 2003.
