"Wow! I got 6 roids! But I lost 8 astropods. Does that mean two of them were shot down?"

"Yup. The screen shows pods lost. It doesn't care whether they were shot down or used up capturing an asteroid."

"How did you do, Fred?"

"I lost some phoenix's, 36 to be exact, but I got 20 roids. And it looks like the other 2 guys got 20 each."

"And I've only got 20 roids altogether!"

After a quick supper, walking hand-in-hand on the beach, Miriam changed the subject away from the days canoe lesson. ""Um, tomorrow's the last day here, and there's a dance and it looks like a busy night. Could we talk now about what happens after the camp is over?"

Fred was just getting used to walking with Miriam. Now a fresh wave of hormones sent his senses into confusion. He felt all gooshie. "Sure," was all he managed to say.

"Ummm. We live in different cities, right? But they're only an hour apart by bus. Would your parents let you come visit me by bus on a Saturday afternoon? Until you can drive by yourself?"

"Ummm. I don't know. I'd like to. I could ask them for sure."

"Oh, great!" and Miriam threw her arms around him and kissed him. When they walked back to the main camp a few minutes later, his face was still red.
