Chapter - An Ideal Place

"... and it's terrible that they can get away with using IRC, Planetarion's IRC, to plan terrorism."

Miriam decisively nodded her agreement with Fred. They were talking with Stan and Sarah, down the beach from the loud music of the last day party.

"What?"

They turned to look as Fred C, the camp counsellor, came over with an incredulous look on his face and Angie holding his arm, looking alarmed.

"Did you just say Planetarion and terrorism in the same breath? And you didn't mean the Fury alliance, did you?"

"Yes, Fred C, that's right."

"I can't see Planetarion players and terrorism. I mean, it's a game. Terrorists don't strike me as a lighthearted bunch."

"Maybe it's ideal for them. A big IRC site, but a specialist site, and so not the first place you'd look."

"What terrorists is it, anyway? IRA?"

"Nope, white supremacists." And Fred took a few minutes to explain.

"Wow. OK. Look, I've been to Germany for a semester of classes, and met some of the guys at Planetarion. I'll see what they can do to help out. We've had trouble with white supremacists in some of the forums, so it's not too big a leap to see them again, but terrorists. Wow!"

"Angie honey, you wanna come with me to the computer lab and send a couple of eamils?"

"Sure."

"Do you need me?"

"Sure, Fred R, you can correct me if I get it wrong."

Angie pouted and stroked Fred C's chest. "Honey, I thought we were going to be alone together in the computer room."

Miriam answered quickly. "This won't take long, after all, it's just a first contact, isn't it guys? So you don't have to explain every detail in one email."

"Sure," said Fred R, "That makes sense. Basically, I introduce them to each other and outline why I think they need to talk."

"Good," said Miriam, "then we can have some time alone, and so can you guys."
