"FWEEP!"

"All right, listen up. It's your first day at camp. You need to get to know each other."

About 50 guys and girls in swimsuits were standing in the hot sun on the beach.

"This game is called Name Tag. It's like tag, but a bit different. I'm going to designate 5 of you as 'It'. When I blow my whistle you run and tag someone, and shout your name. You shout your name when someone tags you, too. Then the two of you together catch someone else and exchange names, until everyone is in one of the 5 groups.

"Any questions?"

"Can we go in the water? It's hot here."

"Sure. But only up to your knees, so it's still a running game. Any more questions?"

"Good. You, you, you, you, and you - yes, you hiding behind your friend. You five are 'It'. Ready?"

"FWEEEEEP!"

The chosen five found themselves in the centre of rapidly expanding circles of fleeing teens, and started chasing.

"Roger!"

"I'm Sam - let's get those girls!"

"Cynthia!"

"John."

Fred almost didn't see the flashing form, ducked out of the way and barely escaped. "Missed me!"

Short blond hair, dark tan skin, pink two piece swimsuit. She twisted back and caught him with a stinging slap. "Now I got you! - oh yeah - Mariam."

"Fred. Errr, Fred R."

"Let's get those guys over there."

"Sure," said Fred and they dashed after a group that was watching another chase.

"Mariam!" "Fred!" simultaneous yells alerted their prey that they were caught.

"Oh shoot." "Yikes!" were followed by grins and "Stan" and "Sarah". The rest of the small group had exploded away by then.

"You two take them." Fred pointed. "Sarah, let's get that guy."

"OK." "Sure."

In a few minutes, laughing groups gathered in animated chatter, in time for another mixing game.

After the mixers came supper. Fred, Sarah, Stan, and Mariam chatted together, then went toward the computer room.

"It sounds like fun."

"And a good use of IRC!"

"What name do you want?"

"How about the name 'Lord Mayor' with the planet called 'London'?"

"'Lord Mayor of London?' Great, if it's not taken!"
