Chapter - Stupid headaches

John had a pounding headache, and no ibuprofen. His boss was likely to drop in unexpectedly. He always chewed him out for some little thing, but it took longer if he was not on schedule. He had to start his next round of door checking at 12:00am. It was already 12:02 and he couldn't find his uniform cap.

He had it when he got here.

It wasn't in his bag. It wasn't in his coat pocket. It wasn't hanging on his chair. It wasn't on the floor under the chair. It wasn't sitting on top of a security monitor.

Wait. What was that guy doing? Let's see, that monitor was pointing at the street just in front of the main security exit.

Check. The monitor was recording. Hmm. That guy would be able to see him exit the store from there when he left to do his rounds.

The store manager moved that monitor today, and John's boss hadn't pointed it back yet, otherwise John wouldn't have seen the guy. He hoped he was just loitering.

Oops. John jumped up, he had to start his round. And there was his hat, on his head. Stupid headaches.
