"Penson? How's about those Blue Jays, eh? First inning over and they're still in the game!"

"OK. We have a situation here and we need to work with you on this one. We've got a probable kidnapping victim being transported into your area."

Const. Robertson tried to relax while Sergeant Wilson took over the case. He was back to answering phones.

"Yes. We are tailing with two teams tagging down the 401. Request support at the exits."

"Yes. They could go right through."

"Well, we have some information from a source in Europe that may be related. Some kids got it off the internet in Europe and Interpol dumped it on us."

"You think that's far-fetched? Listen to this.

<WyteHot  > Cleansing will begin in the new Homeland
<IronFist > All Rit! Party Hot, party 4 th peepl! Hot 4 th scum!

"R-I-T for right! P-E-E-P-L! Isn't that just great? Only a bunch of kids could spell that badly! It's gotta be a fake."

"No, they sent it directly to a community policing constable here, asked for him by name."

"Well, he's a little busy right now, blowing this kidnapping out of proportion, and thinking up new crimes for them to commit."

"Sure I can put him on. George, you answer calls for Robertson. I'm going for a coffee."

Constable Robertson took the phone with some trepidation. "Constable Robertson."

"Robertson, this is Lieutenant Penson. Sergeant Wilson is a friend of mine, but I gather that he has never used IRC. Your Constable Frank Mallot says Wilson is down on you for no good reason, so I have to give you more credibility than he does. Can you give me a brief summary of the transcript now?"

"Well, the transcript opens with two guys calling each other names while waiting for the third guy. Then they congratulate each other apparently on killing another guy who screwed up yet again. They discuss a "cleansing", which sounds like a stadium fire bombing. They propose executing another guy by setting him on fire in the fire bombing. They talk about stealing a lot of money, to pay for all the other stuff. And it sounds like they're using the confusion from the fire bombing to cover up the theft."

"Wow. That's quite a handful! How do the other transcripts tie in?"

"The first two who slag each other also appear in the other transcripts. The names of the two guys they talk about killing are the third participant in the first transcripts and a guy who screwed up a mugging in the other transcripts. They talk about plans in those transcripts, but not in any detail. We have other information that is not in the transcripts themselves. For instance, the guy whose computer the first transcripts were found on is the kidnappee in the car we are trailing. He was the boss of a local teen wecurity guard who was mugged, and head of a gang that included the guy who was found dead this morning."

"OK. I can begin to see why you are concerned. Can you send me the transcripts?"

"Yes sir, I can fax all three transcripts, and I can fax the reports that summarize what we know, and what we are speculating."

Behind Constable Robertson, Constable George answered another phone.

The lieutenant continued in a warm, joking manner, "Well, you've certainly give us a busy day, Robertson. A murder, a kidnapping, a fire bomb warning, and a warning of a large theft. I don't want you to give us anything else to do, or we won't be able to write traffic tickets!"

Robertson smiled, "I'll try to keep out of trouble, sir."

George called out. "Robertson! Don't hang up!"

"Just a minute, sir, I think someone wants to talk to you."

"Robertson, tell him there's been another kidnapping, and it seems to be tied into this mess!"
