Rin-n-ng!

"Hello"

"Hi, Fred"

"Rodney! You and John never got to the boat landing. What happened? Are you all right?"

The other teens stopped eating lunch and looked up as Fred's mom shushed them.

"We're fine, now. John was hit on the head when we got dumped out of the canoe, but we got some good shots of you kissing, and the doctor said he'll be all right."

"Wow! Sounds like you've been busy, too!"

"Why? What have you been up to, or did you mean the necking?"

"We found a body in the river. It washed up against the dock."

There was only one guard with Warren, so he had to cover the phone tap. He wasn't paying much attention until he heard the word "body". He pushed "Record" in time to catch the tinny reply.

"Really! Maybe that's what those guys were dumping in the water!"

"Boss! You gotta hear this!"

The tinny voices continued. "What guys?"

"Just upstream of you, two guys came out on the bank and dumped something in the water, right after your parents left. I snapped a couple of shots with the telephoto. I couldn't recognize them in the viewfinder, but you might be able to tell in a large print."

"Really! You guys should come over here and tell us all about it."

"OK. We'll be right over. We should call the police from there about the camera."

"Great! See you soon!"

"Bye."

"Bye."

"Right. We have to get that camera before the cops do. Let's go."
